Research Matters

Who’s On First?

Never mind trying to asking “Who am I gonna call?” with questions about research presented as learned. When the U. S. Department of Education talks, we can’t even read the matter at hand. Really, shouldn’t readers of official U.S. government documents touting the wonders of the Internet in our schools offer links to access to the items sourced as proving the wonders they’re offering?

I checked out the Endnotes in just one article cited in recent publication released by the U.S. Secretary of Eduation. In this one short article, 40 separate resources were cited, but online links to only 6 sources are given. Two links are broken and one site was labeled “unsafe.”

That was from just one Endnote of 72 citations in this U.S. government document. Stay tuned.
